Swansea City bounced back with a convincing win over Stoke City at the Swansea.com Stadium, thanks to goals from Liam Cullen, Matt Grimes, and Josh Key.
Cullen opened the scoring in the 19th minute with a well-taken goal from a set-piece, his seventh of the season. Captain Grimes extended the lead early in the second half with a powerful penalty, after Ollie Cooper was fouled in the box.
Key then sealed the victory with a precise finish into the roof of the net, capping off a sweeping attacking move.
Swansea Head Coach Luke Williams was clearly a much happier man, saying “Tonight we gave the maximum and we got the points” in his post-match reaction.
The Swans made three changes from their previous match, with Cullen, Ben Cabango, and Cooper in the starting line-up. Nathan Wood was side-lined due to injury, while Jerry Yates and Jamal Lowe were on the bench for this game.
The Swans next game is the visit of Rotherham United to the Swansea.com stadium, with the Millers having already been relegated from the Championship last week.
