Over 500 Swansea City fans made the trip to Teesside to watch the Swans take on Middlesbrough at the Riverside stadium for their side’s opening Championship fixture of the 2024-2025 season.
The Swans supporters’ coaches left the Swansea.com stadium at 4am in order to make the 620 mile round trip to Middlesbrough for match which kicked off at 12:30pm to accommodate the launch of Sky Sports Plus.
Sadly the result didn’t go their way as Boro took all three points thanks to Emmanuel Latte Lath’s first-half penalty, despite a much improved second half showing from the visitors.
The loyal away following was noted by Swans Head Coach Luke Williams, who said “It breaks me when we see them at the end of a game and we have not given them a performance” in his post-match reaction to the defeat at Middlesbrough.
Opening game of the season or not, those that travelled deserve huge credit for making the long trip and backing the Swans as they always do on the road.
