Luke Williams praised Swansea City’s “big win and performance” after a hard-earned 1-0 victory over Norwich City at the Swansea.com Stadium.
An early own goal from Amankwah Forson settled the contest in SA1, as the Swans battled through a tightly contested and entertaining match to secure the three points. The home side created several chances to extend their lead, with Jisung Eom, Liam Cullen, and Ronald all going close, but they were unable to add to their tally.
Defensively, Swansea stood firm. Lawrence Vigouroux made a crucial save to deny Josh Sargent, while Harry Darling and Kyle Naughton made important blocks. In the dying moments of the game, Ben Cabango produced a stunning last-ditch tackle to stop Borja Sainz as he closed in on goal, ensuring the Swans held on for the win.
Williams was pleased with the balance of quality and resilience his side displayed, particularly in grinding out a result against tough opposition.
“That was a huge effort against a really tough opposition, so I am pleased with that,” said the Swans boss.
