Swansea City head coach Luke Williams emphasized the need for a more ruthless edge in front of goal after his side’s 1-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.
Despite controlling large portions of the game, with two-thirds of possession and 14 shots, the Swans were unable to convert their dominance into a positive result. Tyrhys Dolan’s early deflected strike proved decisive, while Swansea’s best chances fell to Florian Bianchini, Liam Cullen, and Gonçalo Franco.
Williams acknowledged the team’s performance but stressed the importance of developing a killer instinct to capitalize on opportunities and turn possession into goals.
“We are being honest about it as a group, we simply have to be more ruthless in front of goal,” said the Swansea boss in his post-match assessment.
“We are having opportunities and half chances that should really amount to something, and we are not doing that at the moment.
“We have got to improve on that because if we do that we are going to turn narrow defeats like this into draws, and draws into wins.
“To have significantly more of the ball, to have more control and more shots than the opposition away from home in the Championship is very, very tough.
“So there are positive signs there, but the game is about goals and we need to improve on that.
