Swansea City produced an impressive performance to claim a 3-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers at the Swansea.com Stadium, securing their first home win of the year.
Following a difficult week that saw the departure of head coach Luke Williams, interim boss Alan Sheehan guided the Swans to a commanding result against play-off contenders Blackburn, as they recorded their first home win of 2025.
The hosts started with intent and took the lead through Zan Vipotnik, who finished from close range. Myles Peart-Harris then extended Swansea’s advantage before the break, capitalising on strong hold-up play from Vipotnik to double the lead.
The Swans maintained their attacking momentum in the second half, with Liam Cullen adding a third goal, finishing first-time from a Peart-Harris assist.
Sheehan made four changes to the side from the defeat at Stoke City last weekend, as Josh Key, Harry Darling, Peart-Harris and Vipotnik came in for Kyle Naughton, Hannes Delcroix, Jisung Eom and Ollie Cooper respectively.
The victory lifts Swansea to 16th in the Championship table, with a 10 point cushion from the relegation places, and provides a welcome boost following a horrendous run of form in 2025. Attention now turns to whether Sheehan will be considered for the role on a permanent basis.
Next up for the Swans a trip to Deepdale to play Preston North End on Tuesday, March 4th at 7:45pm.
