Background:
A firefighter by trade, Allison started refereeing in 2011 before making the jump to professional referee in 2020.
Allison made his football league debut during the 2020/2021 season covering League One and League Two games, before making his Championship debut back in February 2023 for the fixture between Hull City and Preston North End.
Allison is the third black referee to officiate in the EFL, following in the footsteps of Uriah Rennie and Trevor Parkes.
He is a former footballer who started his playing career with Swindon Town, before moving on to the likes of Bristol City, Bournemouth and Exeter City. He eventually dropped down into the semi-professional game with spells at Clubs including Bath City, Chippenham Town and Salisbury City.
