9 years ago on 09 September 2006 – The Swans moved up to 7th in the League One table thanks to substitute Andy Robinson’s 73rd minute goal against Bradford City at the Liberty Stadium in front of 11,481.

15 years ago on 09 September 2000 – A goal a minute from time saw John Hollins’ Swans go down 1-0 at The Den against Millwall in Nationwide Football League Division Two. A certain Willy Gueret was on the bench for Millwall that day.

18 years ago on 09 September 1997 – Two late goals in the dying minutes gave Darlington a 3-2 win over the Swans at Feethams in Nationwide League Division Three. Tony Bird and Dave O’Gorman had given Jan Molby’s Swans a 2 nil half time lead but the game turned after Kristian O’Leary gave away a 51st minute penalty.

20 years ago on 09 September 1995 – A solitary goal from David Beresford was all the Swans could offer in a 4-1 drubbing at Walsall in Endsleigh Insurance League Division Two.

26 years ago on 09 September 1989 – A 2-1 win at the Vetch over Chester City meant the Swans had secured their first home win since 22nd March 1989. A first half Paul Raynor brace ensured the Vetch Field crowd of 2,738 went home happy. The Chester scorer that day was a certain Aidan Newhouse, who later went on to sign for the Swans.

27 years ago on 09 September 1988 – Paul Raynor and Andy Melville scored for the Swans as they beat Southend United 2-0 away from home in Barclays League Divsion Three. The result saw Terry Yorath’s Swans go top of the table.

37 years ago on 09 September 1978 – The Swans went top of League Division Three thanks to first half goals from Alan Waddle and Kevin Moore, as they beat Watford 2 nil in front of 17,435 at the Vetch Field.
