What’s Bloomfield Road Like

Up to 2,500 away fans are on one side of the ‘temporary’ East Stand on one side of the pitch.

Facilities are in the Armfield Stand, with food including pies, sausage rolls and hot dogs. In terms of alcohol, lager, bitter, cider and wine are sold.

Visiting Blackpool

Most football fans that visit Blackpool to watch their team usually make a weekend of it and with so much to keep you entertained away from the football it is easy to understand why.

The attractions, such as The Blackpool Tower, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Sandcastle Waterpark, SEA LIFE Blackpool and the Winter Gardens, are enough to keep most people occupied.

Blackpool really does come alive at night with some of the greatest bars and clubs in the UK, so if night life is your thing, then you will not be disappointed.

If you do choose to stay the weekend, the Blackpool FC Hotel (FY1 6JJ) and Travelodge Blackpool South Shore (FY4 1HR) are right by the ground.

What’s On in Blackpool

As you can imagine there are plenty of shows to enjoy in Blackpool.

Blackpool Air Show is on from 13 – 14 August with some of the world’s finest military and civilian aircraft performing over the iconic seafront.

The air show will showcase the very best in British aviation with a whole host of amazing flying machines and some of the country’s most talented pilots.

Eating and Drinking near Bloomfield Road

Where to drink in Blackpool? Just about anywhere because you really are spoilt for choice!

As the name suggests, The Bloomfield Brewhouse (FY1 6JW) is right by the ground.

A music bar near the ground is the Waterloo (FY4 2AF).

The famous Manchester (FY1 6AH) is on the corner of the Promenade and Lytham Road, with The Dunes (FY4 1SA) also not far away.

Velvet Coaster (FY4 1BA) is a massive Wetherspoons, but a 20-minute walk away from the ground.

Parking near Bloomfield Road

Parking close to the ground can sometimes difficult with limited street parking, but you could take advantage of some private car parking spaces near Bloomfield Road, which you can reserve from just £4.00 for the whole day.

A huge pay and display car park is to the left of Seasiders Way, which stretches from near the Blackpool South station to the ground. It’s £3.50 for 3 hours or £6 for up to 6 hours.

Trains to Blackpool

The closest railway station to the ground is Blackpool South and a 10-minute walk.

Most trains stop at Blackpool North, 2 miles away. A taxi or the number 11 bus from the bus station across the road.

Trains leave Swansea High Street at 07:47 and arrive in Blackpool at 13:46, you’ll need to change at Manchester Piccadilly though.

There are no trains back to Swansea after the game, so you will need an overnight stay.

Buses to Lytham St Annes pass the end of Bloomfield Road and run every eight minutes. Get off at The Bridge pub (FY1 6DZ) and walk down Lonsdale Road to the ground.
