Swans Ladies return to action this weekend

The Swansea City Ladies play their first competitive game of 2022 when they travel to play Cardiff Met on Sunday in the Adran Trophy Quarter-Finals at 2pm.

As always, Met will provide a stern test for Chris Church and his team, with the two clubs setting the standard for others to follow in recent years.

Goals from Stacey John-Davis and Shaunna Jenkins gave the Swans a 2-1 victory on their last visit to the Cyncoed Campus, the televised opening game of the Genero Adran Premier season back in September.

Psychologically the Swans will probably hold the upper hand, having already beaten Met twice this season, the last meeting being the 3-0 win at Llandarcy at the end of October.

However, with Met having played twice in as many weeks – whilst also securing victories over Llandudno and Cardiff City respectively – they will certainly be match fit and in good form, for what is usually a close encounter between two very good teams.

Swans Ladies top Adran Premier Table

The Swans Ladies have had an excellent start to the 2021/22 season, as they finished top of the Genero Adran Premier following the conclusion of the Phase One fixtures last weekend.

They are currently unbeaten this season and have conceded only three league goals to date, whilst scoring 43 times, with Katy Hosford and Stacey John-Davies being the top scorers with 9 goals each.

Aberystwyth Town were the only side to take any points off the Ladies, thanks to a hard fought 0-0 draw at Llandarcy at the beginning of December.

Phase Two of the Adran Premier, which will see the Swans take on Cardiff Met, Cardiff City and Aberystwyth Town, will get back underway next month.

For now though the Swans will be focussed on the Adran Trophy and progressing to the Semi-Finals.

Tickets for the Quarter-Final tie against Cardiff Met at the Cyncoed Campus are available to purchase online, priced at £3 for Adults, £1 for Students and Free for Under 16s.
