Oliver Langford has been appointed as the referee for the Swans midweek trip to Peterborough United on Wednesday evening.
This will be the Langford’s third Swansea City appointment of the season, having ominously been the referee for the Swans one nil home defeat against Luton Town at the start of February and the Swans 2-1 defeat at Birmingham City last October.
Langford will be assisted by Phillip Dermott and Daniel Leech, with Josh Smith being the 4th Official for the game.
Unfortunately, Oliver Langford’s statistics as a referee don’t make for very good reading for Swansea fans, as half of the Swans games he has officiated have ended in defeat.
Oliver Langford EFL Championship Record
The West Midlands official has officiated 18 Championship games so far this season, handing out 80 yellow cards but only one red card, whilst awarding two penalties – both awarded to the home side.
The only Swansea players to receive a yellow card from Langford so far this season are Ryan Bennett, Flynn Downes and Joel Piroe, both of the latter during the game against Luton.
Langford has only officiated one Peterborough United game previously this season, the 2-2 at Birmingham City in February, when he also gave to yellow card to Frankie Kent.
