With the Swans having now played all of their away games for the 2021-2022 EFL Championship season, we thought we’d take a closer look at how many of the Jack Army followed their team up and down the country each week.
Once again hundreds, sometimes thousands, of Jacks backed Russell Martin’s men on their travels, celebrating a Swans goal on 28 occasions over the 23 games – including four as the Swans clinched the south Wales derby double in Cardiff.
It wasn’t always easy viewing, as the Swans won 7, drew 5 and lost 11 of their games on the road, but it didn’t put off the travelling Jacks going in large numbers.
Here is a month by month look at the number of Swansea fans attending each away league game.

In total nearly 23,300 Swans fans travelled to watch the team play an away game in the Championship, well 23,294 if you want to be exact!
That’s an average of 1,013 Swansea fans at every away game, not bad at all when you consider the amount of travelling involved and the fact that 10 of the games weren’t the traditional 3pm Saturday kick-off time.
If you calculated the distance to every away game from the Swansea dot com stadium, using the fastest route possible (in terms of time) then Swansea fans would have travelled a staggering 8,968 miles to watch their team in Championship action throughout the season.
That’s an average round trip of 390 miles per game!
We haven’t included the number of Swans fans that travelled to the EFL Cup games at Reading and Brighton back in August and September 2021 in any of the above figures.
So when we share pictures of the travelling Jacks after each away game on our social media channels, praising them for their dedication and loyal support, we genuinely mean it.
Fans of other clubs can mock the Jack Army as much as they like, but there is no denying that Swansea City has a loyal and dedicated away following.
If other websites would like to use the above figures then that is fine, all that we ask is that you credit us with a link back to our website.
