Martin appointed referee for last game of season

Stephen Martin has been appointed the referee for the Swans last Championship game of the season, when Queens Park Rangers visit south Wales on Saturday.

The Staffordshire official is the son of former Premier League referee Andy, who officiated during the 1990s and was the referee when the Swans lost at Blackpool back in March.

Referee Martin will be assisted by James Wilson and Nicholas Barnard, with James Oldham the 4th Official for the game, which kicks off at 12:30pm.

Stephen Martin’s record when officiating Swansea City games is very positive, with no defeats to date in the four home games he has officiated.

Stephen Martin Championship 2021-2022 Record

He has handed out 59 yellow cards and two red cards thus far in the Championship – one of the reds being shown to Moses Odubajo, in the R’s 3-2 win at Middlesbrough way back in August.

Flynn Downes and Kyle Naughton, were both booked by Martin in the Swans defeat at Blackpool.
