Martin: We were not good enough

The Swans first home league of the Championship season ended in a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Blackburn Rovers at the Swansea dot com stadium.

Goals from Sammie Szmodics, Ben Brereton Diaz and Lewis Travis ensured Rovers left south Wales all 3 points, as Russell Martin admitted afterwards that “We were punished for our mistakes and moments where we were not good enough”.

Truth be told there was little for the Swans faithful in the 16,632 crowd to get excited about, with Ryan Manning’s performance the only positive in a painfully pedestrian Swansea City performance.

Opposite number Jon Dahl Tomasson was proud of his team, saying in his post-match press conference that “We stuck to the plan we worked on during the whole week and controlled the game out of possession”.
