The Swans fell to defeat against Blackburn Rovers in their first Championship home game of the 2022-2023 season.
Goals from Sammie Szmodics, Ben Brereton Diaz and Lewis Travis ensured Blackburn maintained their unbeaten start to the season, as they left south Wales with all 3 points on a bitterly disappointing afternoon for the Jack Army.
After glimpses of promise in the draw at Rotherham United last weekend, this lacklustre and pedestrian performance from the home side was unexpected to say the least, with Russell Martin admitting after the game this his side weren’t good enough.
Republic of Ireland international Ryan Manning was heavily involved in the Swans best chances, and was probably the only positive in a below par Swansea City performance.
The Swans now turn their attention to the Carabao Cup and a trip to Oxford United on Tuesday, 9 August at 7:45pm.
