Match Highlights – Reading 2 Swansea City 1

Swansea City remain without a Championship win in eight games, after falling to a 2-1 defeat at Reading.

It was an all too familiar story for the Swans this season, as arch nemesis Andy Carroll opened the scoring for the Royals before Tom Ince added a second early in the second half.

Swans super sub Liam Cullen briefly gave the visitors hope when he scored on 71 minutes, but there was no fairy-tale comeback for the visitors this time around, as the Swans fell to their first defeat at Reading since 2008.

In his post-match press conference, Russell Martin bemoaned his team’s mentality, with the Scot clearly getting increasingly frustrated with his players and the manner in which his team concedes goals.

No doubt the 1,942 Swansea fans that travelled to Berkshire will have been left feeling the same.

The Swans now turn their attention to the visit of Watford to the Swansea.com stadium on Friday evening, with Martin and his men looking to end their terrible run and 2022 with a much needed win.
