Match Highlights – Swansea City 2 Blackpool 1

Swans defender Matty Sorinola played a key role as the Swans overcame bottom of the table Blackpool in SA1.

Sorinola scored the Swans opener as the home side dominated first half proceedings and led 1-0 at the break.

Blackpool’s Charlie Patino was shown a red card early in the second half, having already been booked in the first half, but the visitors managed to grab an unlikely equaliser through Sonny Carey with 20 minutes remaining.

But the Swans weren’t to be denied a very important three points, as Sorinola’s excellent delivery was put into his own net by Callum Connolly, giving the Swans a 2-1 win and a first double over Blackpool since the 1978-79 season.

In his post-match press conference, Russell Martin was proud of his young side, as the Swans line-up was the youngest in the Championship for the sixth time this season.

The Swans now travel to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday looking to build on the win over Blackpool.
