Match Highlights – Swansea City 1 Stoke City 3

The Swans poor run of form continued as they were beaten by Stoke City at the Swansea.com stadium on Tuesday evening.

Despite Morgan Whittaker giving the Swans the lead inside the opening two minutes, it was an all too familiar story, as the visitors were in front after just 20 minutes thanks to Josh Laurent’s brace.

With the Swans chasing the all important equaliser, Stoke secured all three points when Lewis Baker finished off a swift counter-attack in injury time.

The latest defeat means the Swans have now won just 3 league games in the last 19 outings and despite sitting in 12th place in the Championship table, they must surely be looking over their shoulders at the teams behind them.

Russell Martin felt his side paid for the way they failed to manage the opening 20 minutes of the game, but the reality is that the Swans defence needs to be sorted out and quickly, as the same mistakes are being made game after game.

The Swans next game is against Rotherham United, who arrive in SA1 on Monday evening for the live televised game on Sky (8pm).
