Match Highlights – Wigan Athletic 0 Swansea City 2

Swansea City secured their third victory in four games by defeating Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium with the help of Joel Piroe’s two goals.

The Dutch striker kicked off the scoring in the 14th minute with a left-footed finish that went past Ben Amos. Piroe then doubled Swansea’s lead just after the half-hour mark, finishing off an excellent sweeping move by the team, to score his 16th League goal of the campaign.

Wigan had more opportunities in the second half, with Will Keane missing a volley from the edge of the box, and Thelo Aasgaard’s attempt being denied by a brilliant save from Swansea’s goalkeeper, Andy Fisher.

The Swans maintained their lead and kept their third clean sheet in four games, earning three points on the road and sending the 778 Jacks at the DW Stadium home happy.

Russell Martin was clearly a happy man after the game, telling the post-match press room – “I really enjoyed the performance,”.

The Swans now welcome Neil Warnock and his Huddersfield Town side to the Swansea.com stadium on Saturday.
