Swansea City Under-21s clinched their third consecutive league victory, overcoming Colchester United 4-1 at Landore, thanks to Kristian Fletcher’s hat-trick and a debut goal from Charlie Veevers.
Veevers opened the scoring by neatly converting a Kyrell Wilson cross. DC United loanee Fletcher continued his stellar form, securing another hat-trick following his three-goal performance against Ipswich Town earlier in the week.
Fletcher notched two quick goals within three minutes in the first period and added a powerful strike around the hour mark. Although Colchester United denied the home side a clean sheet with Kaan Bennett’s goal, it served as little more than a consolation.
In terms of line-up changes from the Ipswich victory, Zane Myers, Jack Stafford, and Maliq Cadogan replaced Joe Thomas, Richard Faakye, and Liam Smith, respectively.
Goalkeeper Archie Matthews returned after a prolonged absence, taking the place of Remy Mitchell, while Nathanael Ogbeta made a comeback from his extended lay-off and was named on the bench.
