Caretaker head coach Alan Sheehan commended the character displayed by his Swansea City side as they secured a valuable point in the 2-2 draw at Coventry City.
Trailing 2-1 in stoppage time at the CBS Arena, the Swans staged a strong finish, culminating in Liam Cullen’s excellent free-kick finding the net in the 93rd minute.
Despite an early lead through Liam Walsh’s first goal for the club, goals from Haji Wright and Ellis Simms had put Coventry in the driving seat. However, Cullen’s late heroics salvaged a point for Swansea.
Sheehan expressed satisfaction with his team’s response after the disappointment of their Boxing Day defeat at Southampton, stating, “I really am proud of the players; we wanted a response and they gave us that.”
