Match Highlights – Coventry City 2 Swansea City 2

Liam Cullen’s brilliant stoppage-time free-kick secured a draw for Swansea City against Coventry City at the CBS Arena.

The visitors took an early lead in the west Midlands when Liam Walsh claimed his first goal in Swansea colors. However, Haji Wright quickly equalized, and after Swansea missed a fine chance to regain their lead in the second half, Wright appeared to secure all three points for Coventry with a headed goal 25 minutes from time.

Despite this setback, the Swans persevered, and substitute Liam Cullen calmly curled home a left-footed free-kick in the 93rd minute to salvage a point and extend Swansea’s unbeaten record against Coventry to 42 years.

Caretaker head coach Alan Sheehan made four changes from the defeat at Southampton, with teenager Sam Parker making his senior debut. Harry Darling, Liam Walsh, and Yannick Bolasie also returned to the starting XI.

After the game, Sheehan praised the character his Swansea City side showed to secure a point at the Coventry Building Society Arena, and was happy with the way his side responded after the disappointment of Boxing Day.

West Bromwich Albion are the visitors to the Swansea.com stadium on New Year’s day, for the Swans next Championship game.
