Luke Williams: We paid the price for lapses of concentration

Swansea City’s head coach, Luke Williams, expressed disappointment as his team paid the price for lapses in concentration during their 3-1 defeat against Championship leaders Leicester City.

The Foxes took an early lead with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s third-minute goal, exploiting a defensive lapse. Despite Swansea settling into the game and creating opportunities, Jerry Yates, Jamie Paterson, and Harry Darling couldn’t convert.

Defensive errors further hurt Swansea, leading to a Stephy Mavididi penalty and Yunus Akgun’s goal. Although Joe Allen scored a late goal for the Swans, it wasn’t enough to mount a comeback.

Williams emphasized the need for focus and concentration, highlighting that mistakes against quality teams like Leicester are costly.

He acknowledged the team’s overall performance was better than the score line suggested but stressed the importance of avoiding defensive gifts in challenging away fixtures.
