Match Highlights – Sheffield Wednesday 1 Swansea City 1

Swansea City battled back to earn a valuable point against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough, thanks to a late equalizer from Jamal Lowe.

Despite dominating possession in the opening 45 minutes, the Swans found themselves behind to Bailey Cadamarteri’s close-range effort at half-time.

However, Luke Williams’ side showed improvement in the second half, and Lowe managed to find the back of the net with 14 minutes remaining. After a Harry Darling header from a corner fell to him in the area, Lowe fired home his eighth goal of the season to secure a draw.

This result extends Swansea’s recent improvement in the Championship, with just one loss in their last six games. Whilst being far from their best at Hillsborough, Luke Williams’ side displayed resilience to stay in the game and come away with a valuable away point.

Post-match the Swansea Head Coach was clearly pleased with the away point, but admitted it wasn’t the performance that he wanted.

Swansea made two changes from the recent win against Cardiff City, with Josh Key starting in place of the injured Kyle Naughton. Jay Fulton marked his 250th Swansea City appearance by replacing Joe Allen in midfield. Swansea City Under 18 player Aimar Govea also featured among the substitutes, coming on for his senior debut late in the second half.

The Swans welcome Queens Park Rangers to the Swansea.com stadium on Easter Monday for their next Championship game.
