EFL confirm dates for 2024-2025 Summer and Winter Transfer Windows

The English Football League (EFL) has officially announced the dates for the upcoming 2024/25 season transfer windows. These periods are critical for all clubs as they look to strengthen their squads and make key strategic moves.

This is especially true for Swansea City, who have had some horrendous transfer windows over the past couple of season’s, and who must surely look to get it right this time around in order to give Head Coach Luke Williams some chance of challenging for promotion next season.

2024/25 Summer Transfer Window

The summer transfer window is set to open on 14 June 2024.

This marks the beginning of a bustling period where clubs will actively engage in negotiations to acquire new talents and offload players who may not fit into their plans for the new season. The window will remain open for 77 days, giving teams ample time to complete their transactions.

The closing date for the summer window is Friday, 30 August 2024 at 11pm. Clubs will need to finalize all their deals by this deadline to ensure their rosters are set for the start of the season.

2024/25 Winter Transfer Window

Following the summer window, the winter transfer window provides a mid-season opportunity for clubs to make further adjustments to their squads.

This window will open on 1 January 2025, allowing teams to address any shortcomings or injuries that may have arisen during the first half of the season.

The winter window will close on Monday, 3 February 2025 at 11pm, giving clubs a full month to make their moves and strengthen their teams for the remainder of the campaign.

As always, the close of each window often sees a flurry of last-minute deals, with clubs racing against the clock to secure their desired players. The Jack Army will be keeping a close eye on the latest news and rumours, anticipating the moves that could make a significant impact on their team’s fortunes in the 2024/25 season.
