Swansea City head coach Luke Williams expressed his satisfaction as his team secured their first Championship win of the season with a commanding 3-0 victory over Preston North End at the Swansea.com Stadium.
Goals from Matt Grimes, Azeem Abdulai, and Žan Vipotnik sealed the win, while Swansea also recorded their first clean sheet of the campaign. The Swans dominated possession, with 12 attempts on goal and six shots on target.
Williams praised his side for building on the momentum from their midweek Carabao Cup victory over Gillingham, describing the performance as a positive step forward.
“It does not get a lot better than that, to be honest with you,” he said.
“To have three goals and a clean sheet, you can’t really complain. So we are happy with our day’s work today.
“We took a lot of lessons from that performance on Tuesday evening, and I think you could see a lot of the same things were evident again today.
“It was very pleasing, and we have a long way to go to be the team we want to be but there are a couple of good markers there and we have to maintain those levels as a minimum.
