Watching the 1st half before wandering over to the stadium.
On reflection, perhaps I should have stayed at the Academy!
We were 2 up at half-time, the first coming on 16 minutes when Morgan Bates got a 2nd snatch at a chance after the keeper’s save from a Josh Pescatore shot landed opportunely for him at close range.

Contrary to the teamsheet, new coach Mason McClelland was in charge today.
With the younger element of our group selected for the U16s cup game on the pitch next door, we fielded a strong looking starting line-up. Substitutes Bobo Evans and Ioan Johnston actually started in the U16s game that kicked off at the same time. We played 4-3-3, with Josh Pescatore and Callum Jones featuring either side of Morgan Bates.
Charlton were quite competitive and had some well-drilled set pieces, Belton going close from a short corner routine and Aidan Higgins doing really well to block a clear run into the box by Tagoe.
Overall, though, we looked comfortable – Bates, Callum Jones and Pescatore supplying much of our threat. Callum Jones put us 2-0 up immediately before half-time.
According to the Academy X posting, we won 3-1 with our 3rd goal being scored by Ramon Rees-Siso, who’s just returned from injury.
Not sure how we got on in the U16s cup match, I believe we were 2 down at half-time.
