Each week we take a close look at the referee assigned to the Swans game and look at their previous record when officiating our beloved Swansea City.
This week’s spotlight for our man in the middle falls on Andre Marriner, who was appointed the referee for the Bristol City v Swans Championship game on Saturday, 29 October 2022.

Referee Marriner was assisted by Mark Scholes and Akil Howson, with Sam Purkiss the 4th Official for the game.
Name: Andre Marriner
DOB: Janaury 1st, 1971
Birthplace: Sheldon, West Midlands.
Interesting Fact: Marriner has been the referee for several memorable Swans games over the last 12 years – the Forest play-off semi-final home leg and the crazy end-of-season goal fest against Blackpool to name a few.
He has also made the headlines in 2015, when he infuriated Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe, who claimed both goals against his side at the Liberty in the 2:2 draw should have been disallowed.
Swans fans may also remember the Liverpool away game in Decemeber 2014, when he sent off Jonjo Shelvey for catching Emre Can with a swinging arm, but Raheem Sterling got away without even a caution for raising his hand towards the face of Federico Fernandez.
And who could possibly forget the FA Cup Quarter Final defeat to Manchester City at the Liberty in March 2019, thanks to Sergio Aguero’s offside goal in the 88th minute.

I THOUGHT HE WAS A BIT CARD HAPPY, GIVE ASHLEY A YELLOW FOR HOLDING ONTO THE BALL, BUT DIDNT PUNISH CHELSEA FOR 3 DELIBERATE KICK AWAYS EARLIER IN THE GAME. BECAME THE ANDRE SHOW WITH THE CARDS
