Each week we take a close look at the referee assigned to the Swans game and look at their previous record when officiating our beloved Swansea City.
This week’s spotlight for our man in the middle falls on Stuart Attwell, who was appointed the referee for the Swans v Brentford FA Cup 5th Round game on Sunday, 17th February 2019.

Referee Attwell was assisted by Constantine Hatzidakis and Derek Eaton, with Simon Hooper the 4th Official for the game.
Name: Stuart Attwell
DOB: October 6th, 1982
Birthplace: Nuneaton, Warwickshire
Interesting Fact: Attwell is no stranger to controversy and has incurred the wrath of the Swans faithfull as recently as the 2015/16 home game against Everton, when he left several Everton players without caution despite some reckless challenges.
He is probably best known however for his handling of the Swans ill-tempered draw with Havant & Waterlooville in the FA Cup in 2008, which prompted then Swans manager Roberto Martinez to say that Attwell “did not protect his players”.

Could not see any foul play by Hull players whilst our players were wrestled at corners. Other referees awarded various penalties lately because of a crackdown on the nefarious tactics at corners. Amat was held in a headlock. Their second goal was offside st the final pass.
