Watched today’s game in flesh (and, boy, was it raining). Leon & Tate among the bravehearts in the stands.
Very pleased that John, McKay & Peterson played – and for the full 90 minutes, as well. Peterson gestured to the coaching area with 10 minutes to go, but played on. McKay was head & shoulders above everyone else in the pitch – his feints, ball work & passing was fine to watch – but I expect it reminds you it needs more than that to succeed at a higher level. Peterson & John were Ok & bearing in mind they had plenty of opportunities to link & shine. I expect they enjoyed the runout, despite the miserable conditions.
Jack Evans & Kees de Boer both effective, & the back 5, including Gould, quite relaxed to knock the ball around on the ground without fear. I was pleasantly surprised by Rushesha’s assertive performance. Cullen took his goals expertly.
Notwithstanding the senior input (hey, but what team did WBA field against us), it was good to win convincingly today. The confidence of the younger players involved can only have improved.
