Ladies face Russian opposition in Champions League

Following the UEFA Women’s Champions League draw which was made earlier in Nyon, the Swans Ladies have been drawn against WFC CSKA Moscow in the First Round.

WFC CSKA Moscow is the women’s team of Russian football club CSKA Moscow and the club participates in the Russian Women’s Football Championship, the top division of Russian women football.

The game will be played on Wednesday, 18 August in Limassol, Cyprus. The venue will be familiar for the Ladies, having played Apollon Ladies there last season in the same round of the competition.

Due to the way the format for the opening round of the UEFA Women’s Champions League is structured – in the form of a mini-four team tournament – the winners of the Swans Ladies will face the winners of Apollon Ladies (Cyprus) v Dinamo-BSUPC (Belarus) on Saturday, 21 August.

The winners of this ‘final’ will then progress to the Second Round Draw, which will be made on Sunday, 22 August 2021.
