Match Highlights – Swansea City 1 West Bromwich Albion 0

Liam Cullen continued his goal-scoring form for Swansea City, helping the team secure victory over West Bromwich Albion at the Swansea.com Stadium to kick off 2024.

Following his late equalizer against Coventry City, Cullen found the net again, scoring the decisive goal 10 minutes into the second half. This marked Swansea’s third consecutive home win against West Bromwich Albion.

Despite earlier missed chances by Jamal Lowe and Harry Darling, and a denied attempt by Josh Tymon hitting the crossbar late in the game, Swansea emerged victorious. Goalkeeper Carl Rushworth played a crucial role with key saves in the first half when the score was still level.

With two changes from the Coventry draw, Cullen and Lowe replaced Sam Parker and Yannick Bolasie, respectively, as caretaker head coach Alan Sheehan guided the team to 11 points from seven games.

After the game, Sheehan was clearly proud of his players, as he hailed the fighting spirit of his players – “You saw a team fighting for the badge, and that is what made me most proud” – he said in his post-match press conference.

The Swans turn their attention away from the Championship next weekend, when they welcome Morecambe to the Swansea.com stadium in the FA Cup Third Round.
