Match Highlights – Swansea City 2 Blackburn Rovers 1

Swansea City completed a first-ever league double over Blackburn Rovers with victory at the Swansea.com Stadium.

The Swans dominated the opening half, asserting their dominance early on when Joe Allen opened the scoring with his second goal of the season, finishing from close range.

Jamie Paterson doubled the lead with a fine strike, marking his seventh goal this term after excellent pressing work in midfield.

In the second half, Blackburn attempted a comeback with Sammie Szmodics pulling a goal back for the visitors. However, Swansea remained resolute and held on to their lead, securing a vital three points.

This win marked back-to-back league victories for Swansea City for the first time since October, and also gave head coach Luke Williams his first home league win in charge at the Swansea.com Stadium.

Williams admitted in his post-match interview after the win over Blackburn that his side need to do more to maintain their intensity levels for the 90 minutes, but nevertheless was pleased with the way his team started the game.

The Swans fielded an unchanged starting line-up from their previous win against Sunderland, with Josh Key, Jamal Lowe, and Bashir Humphreys returning to the bench.

Next up for the Swans is a trip to Vicarage Road to take on Watford on Wednesday evening.
