Webb to referee south Wales derby

Lancashire official David Webb has been appointed the referee for the south Wales derby on Saturday lunchtime, when Cardiff City are the visitors to the Swansea.com stadium.

Assisting Webb for the game will be Rob Smith and Bhupinder Singh Gill, with Andy Davies the 4th Official for the game which is being shown live on Sky Sports.

This will the third time that Webb has been the referee for a Swansea game this season, after he was the man in the middle for the home defeat against Leeds United last month and the Swans 1-1 draw at Stoke City back in December.

It will also be the first time that Webb will have officiated a south Wales derby.

This will be the 26th Championship game that Webb has taken charge of this season, handing out 103 yellow cards and 1 red card to date.

Nathan Wood, Josh Tymon and Joe Allen were all shown yellow cards by Webb in the game against Leeds United at the Swansea.com stadium in February, whilst Ben Cabango and Yannick Bolasie were booked during the Swans game at Stoke City last December.

This will be the first time that Webb has been the referee for a Cardiff City game this season.
