Swansea City endured a torrid night against promotion chasing Leeds United, with three first-half goals setting the visitors’ on their way to a comprehensive victory at the Swansea.com Stadium.

Crysencio Summerville and former Swan Joel Piroe swiftly put the Yorkshire side 2-0 up within the opening 10 minutes, before Wilfried Gnonto extended their lead before half-time. Gnonto later scored his second of the evening with 20 minutes remaining, completing Leeds’ commanding performance and their biggest ever win in Swansea.

Despite coming off a weekend victory over Hull, Swansea faced a daunting task against Leeds, boasting a squad with Premier League experience. Head coach Luke Williams was clearly disappointed with his players performance, saying in his post-match interview that “We have to play with a higher level of intensity and concentration, and be braver”.

Swansea made one change from the win at Hull, with Bashir Humphreys replacing Kyle Naughton in the starting line-up.

Ipswich Town are the visitors to the Swansea.com stadium on Saturday afternoon for the Swans next EFL Championship encounter.
