Match Highlights – Swansea City 3 Leeds United 4

Swansea City’s new chapter began with a thrilling but frustrating defeat, as Wilfried Gnonto’s stoppage-time goal gave Leeds United a dramatic 4-3 win at the Swansea.com Stadium.

Harry Darling opened the scoring for Swansea with his first goal of the season just nine minutes in, but Manor Solomon quickly brought Leeds level.

Liam Cullen, fresh off his impressive performances for Wales earlier in the week, put Swansea back in front with his fourth goal of the season just before halftime. However, Ben Cabango was unlucky to turn the ball into his own net early in the second half, making it 2-2.

Leeds took the lead for the first time with 15 minutes remaining when Solomon scored his second, smashing home Sam Byram’s cross.

In stoppage time, substitute Florian Bianchini gave Swansea hope with a dramatic equaliser, but that hope was short-lived. Moments after the restart, Gnonto struck to secure all three points for Leeds, who remain top of the Championship.

Swans Head Coach Luke Williams, summed things up perfectly in his post-match interview, saying “In the end it was heart-breaking“.

The Swans return to action on Wednesday evening, when they travel to Pride Park to take on Derby County.
