The official match report already captures the detail, so here’s some summary personal observations from this morning’s match: A really hard working team performance and a well merited victory for our very young side and over a useful Bristol City opposition. Our very young U18 were comprehensively beaten 4-1 today by a far more powerful visiting Cardiff unit and on a bitterly cold day at Landore. A really impressive 2nd half performance from our U18. We weren’t really at the races before the interval: the formation seemed right enough, but players are being played in positions that challenge them and it seems every mistake is punished. It may be that we were missing players, the starting formation and selection was a little novel – essentially 3-4-1-2 as follows: Kit Margetson; Sam Parker, Jada Mawongo, Arthur …

A really strange game today at Landore, a very poor 1st half followed by a rejuvenated and very encouraging 2nd half showing. Most of this was down to us fielding a much-changed XI, featuring a number of younger players who understandably were a little over-awed to start with, plus some slightly more experienced players who didn’t …
The Swans Under 18s have been drawn at home to Sunderland in the FA Youth Cup Third Round. Darren Davies and his young Swans will no doubt relish the opportunity to take on Category One Academy Sunderland at Landore.
