A battling 4-2 win for our U18s today against a forceful Ipswich side that never gave up.

Thomas Woodward clinched the game with his third deep into added time and as Ipswich fought gamely to find an equaliser.

We lined up 3-4-2-1: Kit Margetson; Arthur Parker, Iestyn Jones, Jack Fanning (captain); Tom Searle (s – Josh Pescatore 61m), Jacob Cook, Harlan Perry, Aimar Govea (s – Cameron Llewellyn 75m); Thomas Woodward, Yori Griffith (s – Ben Phillips 79m); Rohan Davies.
Unused subs: Ewan Griffiths, Teo Minchev.

Scoring: Adebayo 0-1 3m; Woodward 1-1 10m; Woodward 2-1 26m; Towler 2-2 52m; Pescatore 3-2 65m; Woodward 4-2 95m.

Great finishing by Thomas Woodward and a cracking first touch goal from substitute Josh Pescatore to get our goals. Big performances from Jack Fanning – who a hand in the first 2 goals – Arthur Parker and Yori Griffith. Ben Phillips joined the action having already played 80 minutes for the U16s on the adjacent pitch.

Ipswich will feel a little hard done by – centre forward Uzor-Greey struck the underside of the bar with the game delicately poised at 3-2.

Plenty of food for thought for new coach Jarred Harvey, assisted today by Ollie Jefferies.
