Match Highlights – Swansea City 1 Derby County 0

Substitute Jisung Eom netted a late winner to give Swansea City a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Derby County at the Swansea.com Stadium.

The South Korea international reacted quickest at the far post, meeting an inswinging cross with 11 minutes remaining to settle a tight, tense encounter.

The Swans kept an unchanged team from the one that claimed a draw at Leeds United last weekend.

Both sides were desperate for the three points, with the victory providing a crucial boost in their bid to secure Championship safety. However, the game was characterised by a lack of composure in the final third, with few clear chances created.

Despite this, Swansea kept a solid defensive shape, registering their 11th clean sheet of the season, and Eom made no mistake when the opportunity arose to score his second goal for the club.

Speaking after the game, Alan Sheehan admitted that while the match may not have been the most entertaining, he was pleased to see his side find a way to secure the crucial victory.

The Swans will look to build on the victory when bottom of the table Plymouth Argyle are the visitors to the Swansea.com stadium on Wednesday night.
