No goals, but plenty to be pleased with for our young U21s squad this evening at Llanelli’s Stebonheath Park. No teamsheet and no team announcements. A reported crowd of 631 were present. Although the substitutions were arranged in 2 bursts, we essentially fielded 2 sides during the course of the night. On show for the …
Another lively friendly outing for our U21s and against what was a strong Briton Ferry Llansawel squad at Old Road. It appeared as though we’d battled our way to a well-earned victory – only for a spectacular 80th minute strike by Tom Walters to seize a draw for the home team. New 1st year scholar Jakub Nowak …
After we reacted positively to an unexpected equaliser, our U21s completed a comfortable 4-1 victory over Carmarthen in Round 1 of this season’s Nathaniel MG Cup. There was a crowd of 572 at Richmond Park for a pleasant day in the sun. Carmarthen play one division below the Cymru Premier and finished 7th in Cymru …
Another testing encounter for our young U21s, this time Merthyr Town provided too strong an opposition and took a 4-1 victory. On the balance of play this felt a slightly harsh result, although Merthyr took their chances well and were deserving winners on the night. We gave a lot of the available squad game time …
A very decent workout for our U21s at Trefelin BGC today in baking hot weather. We won the match 1-0 and in truth could have scored more in the 2nd half as our fitness told over an otherwise hard working Ynys Park side, who finished 4th in Cymru South last season. No teamsheet. We started 4-3-3: …
Our U21s drew the curtain on this season’s competition with a thoroughly convincing 5-0 victory over PDL2 North divisional champions Sheffield United at the Swansea stadium. The manner of the victory was emphatic and exacted a degree of payback – the Blades gave us 3 hidings last season, including a chastening televised 4-2 defeat at …
Our U17s rather ran out of steam in today’s PDL Cup Final at the stadium. After a fairly even first half in which we created and hadn’t taken our chances, Luton got in front before the interval with a sharp move that completely cut through our defence. They went onto deservedly take the trophy with …
A bright game on a bright day but, over the course of the 90 minutes, our young U18s squad fell short and lost 2-1 to Brentford. We deserved better, had the best of the play and chances, we rather ran out of steam and Brentford clinically took the few opportunities they had to seize the …
Even with the benefit of a few hours distance, a first team game in between and a drying off, this still seems another in a long line of highly entertaining home games at this level. Bournemouth brought a few supporters / parents with them. The match administration was pretty spartan today – no teamsheet, no …
Here is an image slideshow from the Under 18 Professional Development League game between Swansea City and AFC Bournemouth at the JOMA High Performance Centre in Landore on Friday, 18 April 2025. Swansea City Under-18s produced a dramatic late comeback to seal a thrilling 4-3 victory over Bournemouth in torrential conditions at Landore. Why not …
