Allison to referee Swans visit to Leeds

Wiltshire based official Sam Allison has been appointed the referee for the Championship game between Leeds United and Swansea City on Wednesday evening.

The part-time firefighter will be taking charge of only his second Swansea City game, having only been promoted to the football league debut during the 2020/2021 season.

His last Swans game was the 2-0 win at Wigan Athletic in April 2023, when he booked Ryan Manning.

Referee Sam Allison will be assisted by Andrew Fox and Mark Stevens, with Stephen Martin the 4th Official for the game at Elland Road.

This will the fifth Championship game that Allison has officiated so far during this campaign, having only made his Championship debut last season.

In the four Championship games he has officiated, he has handed out 21 yellow cards and one red card.

Seven of those yellow cards and the red card were awarded in Leicester’s 2-0 win over Watford on the weekend, when Allison also awarded a penalty to the home side.

It will be the first that time that he has officiated both Leeds United and Swansea City this season.
