Match Highlights – Swansea City 0 Plymouth Argyle 1

Swansea City’s hopes of climbing up the Championship table were dashed by a Morgan Whittaker goal that gave Plymouth Argyle a 1-0 victory at the Swansea.com Stadium.

The former Swans forward scored from a corner in the first half, while the hosts wasted several chances to equalise.

Swansea’s new signing Ronald impressed on his first start, but could not prevent the Swans from losing on the club’s dedicated Maggie’s matchday, which aimed to raise awareness and funds for the cancer support charity.

The Swans made four changes from the defeat at Leicester City in midweek. Ronald was handed his full debut, with Ben Cabango, Kyle Naughton and Ollie Cooper came into the starting XI.

Deadline-day arrivals Charles Sagoe Jr and Przemyslaw Placheta were among the Swansea City substitutes.

Head coach Luke Williams was left frustrated by his side’s lack of clinical edge in front of goal, but praised their overall performance in his post-match interview.

The Swans next game is the long trip to Hull City next Saturday, when they will be looking to get their first away win of 2024.
