A comfortable enough win and workout for a strong Swans side today at Landore, played in a combination of bright sunshine and heavy showers. We dominated throughout, aside from the final 10 minutes when Millwall resurged and created a number of late chances, amazingly blazing 2 over the bar from point blank range. We lined up …
A well deserved victory in great weather at Landore. We created by far the most chances, but conceded a couple of soft goals. Even so, our goal led a charmed life in the final 10 minutes as Charlton sought an equaliser. An excellent finish from Ben Lloyd – his first touch on coming onto the pitch – …
Swansea City Under 21 travel to the Cardiff International Sports Stadium this afternoon to take on Cardiff City Under 21 in a Professional Development League fixture at 1pm. The young Swans will be looking to build on the 4-1 victory over Colchester United at Landore recently, when they play the first south Wales derby Under …
A great tonic for our U21, against a side that’s given us problems in the recent past. Jon Grey didn’t appear to be there today – perhaps working? Lots of the U18 squad present, plus Tiv Rushesha, Kyle Joseph, Liam Cullen and Ollie Cooper, as well as Russell Martin arriving in the 2nd half. I’ve …
Having seen us perform so well at Haverfordwest on Saturday, I was a little disappointed with our showing today – although it has to be said that Bournemouth have some very useful players and played an intelligent game. We persisted far too long with players playing in positions that they are unsuited for and we …
A demanding and often feisty workout for the U21 against a determined Briton Ferry Llansawel of Cymru South – and in front of a very decent and appreciative crowd at Old Road. We lined up in a familiar style: Remi Mitchell; Kai Ludvigsen, Fillip Lissah and Ben Blythe as a back 3; Azeem Abdulai pulling …
An entertaining game for a very young U21 squad on a sweltering day at Landore. No teamsheet. Stevenage turned up in a variety of different shirts, mostly unnumbered. They must have been amazed to score 2 goals, essentially due to inexplicable generosity on our part. Kris O’Leary walked in after the start, presumably fresh from the Bristol …
In line with changes across the development leagues in English football, the Swans Under 23s will now play as Swansea City Under 21s for the upcoming 2022-2023 Professional Development League season. The amendment to the age limit, which was under-23 last season, has been introduced as part of an ongoing review of the Premier League’s …
Our U21 (or mostly our U18 representing our U21) went down to a 4-0 defeat to visiting Stoke City in today’s Premier League Cup tie at Landore. We started brightly enough, before Stoke gradually took control, scoring initially through a 21t minute penalty from centre forward Nathan Lowe. Lowe got a 2nd on 45 minutes after …
The first round draw of the 2018/19 Checkatrade Trophy took place this afternoon at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in central London, with Swansea City Under 21s being one of the 16 invited teams to participate in the competition. The 48 participating EFL Clubs from League One and League Two were placed into pre-determined Northern and …
